PostHeaderIcon Brazil V Ivory Coast Pantomime

Im sat here watching the Brazil V Ivory Coast game and i feel like i am watching a pantomime, Im waiting for Lenny Henry to come on off the bench.

The game is 3-1 and there has been some good football played but the theatrics going down on that pitch are just embarrassing. Everyone knows Brazil are a world class team, they have 5 starts on there shirt! I seriously think they are letting themselves down tonight with they way they are reacting to the slightest touch. At one point i was convinced the vuvuzela’s were masking the noise of the sniper in the crowd.

If i was Ivory Coast i would be pissed off, however it doesn’t mean you join in with them, Kader Keita has just run into Kaka and gone down like he’d been punched in the face. The referee didn’t see it but gave Kaka a second yellow and he is off.

Its not the type of football that promotes the game in a good light. Maybe it was what Brazil deserved after doing the same for 90 minutes?

PostHeaderIcon Drogbas Back In The Game

And he’s back in the Game…..

Annoyingly, Drogba is today rejoining his Ivory Coast team mates in South Africa after a successful operation on his elbow. The Ivory Coast first game is on the 15th June against Portugal, Their not sure if Drogba will be fit for the opening game but he will now take part.

This is a boost for Ivory Coast and its a player they need, without Drogba i reckon they would have been bottom of their league cause i think Noth Korea would have nipped a win.

PostHeaderIcon Drogba Out Of World Cup

With every Ying there is a Yang! As news was coming through that our captain was out of the world cup, so was the news that Drogba was also out. Drogba plays for Ivory Coast who many thought would be a suprise team in the World Cup this year, Unfortunately, they seem to be a one man team as now those expectations have gone.

Drogba who finished the premiership as the top goal scorer hurt his elbow in a friendly warm up match against Japan. Drogba suffered a fractured elbow, which he revealed in a phone call to one of his team mates from the hospital.

This again is a massive blow for the Ivory Coast which still have good players but nothing like the calibre of Drogba. Bad news for him but good news for Brazil, North Korea and Portugal who are in the same group.
